The National Retail Federation just released its annual holiday spending forecast, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

The bad news is that the consumers surveyed by the NRF expect to spend about 2 percent ($14) less this year on holiday gifts, greeting cards, decorations, flowers, and food than they did in 2012.

The good news is that those same consumers reported what they plan to buy, where they plan to shop, and why they’re choosing to shop there over all their other options.
